Privacy notice

This notice explains what happens to personal information you give to Frontstudio through this website. It is written to be read, not to cover anyone in legal jargon.

Who is responsible

Frontstudio is the data controller for information collected through frontstudio.co.uk. If you have any question about this notice, or you want me to do something with your information, email yusuf@frontstudio.co.uk and I will answer personally.

What this website collects

Nothing at all until you use the enquiry form. There is no analytics on this site, no advertising, no tracking pixels and no third-party scripts. Browsing frontstudio.co.uk leaves nothing behind.

If you send an enquiry, the form asks for your name, your business name and your email address, all of which are required. It also offers optional fields for your phone number and your current website, and asks what you need, what you would like to tell me about the business or project, your rough budget and your timing.

Why I need it, and on what basis

I use what you send only to reply to you, to understand what you are asking for, and to prepare a quote. Under UK GDPR the lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and my legitimate interest in answering people who contact me about work.

I will not add you to a mailing list, and I will not sell, share or pass your details to anyone for marketing. If you ask me a question and the answer is that I am not right for the job, that is the end of it.

Who else handles it

Three services are involved in getting your enquiry to me, and each of them acts on my instructions:

Web3Forms receives the form submission and emails it to me. Cloudflare provides this website’s hosting, DNS and email forwarding. Google provides the inbox I actually read your message in, because my Frontstudio address forwards to Gmail.

These are the only services that touch your enquiry. Some of them may process data outside the UK; where that happens it is covered by the safeguards those providers have in place for international transfers.

How long it is kept

If we do not end up working together, I keep your enquiry for up to twelve months in case you come back, then delete it. If you become a client, I keep project and billing records for six years after the end of the work, because HMRC requires business records to be kept that long.

You can ask me to delete your enquiry sooner than that at any time, and unless I am legally required to keep something, I will.

Cookies and tracking

This website sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. There is no analytics, no session tracking and no advertising technology of any kind. That is a deliberate choice, and it is why you have not been shown a cookie banner.

Your rights

You can ask me for a copy of what I hold about you, ask me to correct it if it is wrong, ask me to delete it, ask me to restrict what I do with it, or object to me holding it at all. You can also ask for it in a portable format. Email yusuf@frontstudio.co.uk and I will deal with it within one month, free of charge.

If you are not happy with how I have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, or call their helpline on 0303 123 1113. I would rather you told me first so I can put it right, but it is your right either way.
